History - Clients
Laidlaw’s U.S. and Midwest Regional Headquarters are located in Naperville, IL. The Company currently provides safe, reliable transportation for 2.4 million children from more than 500 locations in 36 different states and 5 Canadian Provinces daily. With more than 41,000 vehicles, Laidlaw is the largest transportation provider in North America. The Company's experience includes home-to-school regular and special education service, Head Start and early childhood programs, transportation for athletic teams, extra-curricular trips and charter trips. We also provide local route service, commuter express operations, University and special event shuttles and demand responsive projects for a variety of public and private clients. Special projects have included transportation for the Los Angeles, Atlanta Olympic Games , the US Pro Golfers Association (various locations) and the Goodwill Games in Seattle.
Laidlaw has 1.7 billion “moments of truth” each year when a passenger boards or exits one of our buses and enters the “Danger Zone”. We carry twice as many passengers each day as all of the U.S. domestic airlines combined. We carry 40 times as many passengers each day as Amtrak. If all our passengers lived in the same geographic area, they’d create the fourth largest city in the U.S.
